Mousepadlabs is a Chile-based e-commerce brand that specializes in custom artistic mousepads. They have a strong creative community and a unique product offering, but were facing significant usability challenges on their digital platform.
Brief
The client approached me with a clear need: redesign the user journey to make the customization and artist selection process more seamless, and create a homepage that could clearly communicate the brand’s identity and offerings. Originally built as a web app, the platform lacked a central landing page, which made onboarding new users difficult.
Challenge
The main issue was a fragmented user flow—customers had to constantly switch between the “Custom” and “Artist” sections just to make a choice, which created confusion and drop-offs. Without a homepage, new users landed directly in the product interface without any introduction to what the brand stood for.
Approach
As the UI/UX Designer, I began with a full UX audit to identify the critical pain points. I then redesigned the user journey to streamline the flow between customization and artist selection.
I created wireframes and interactive prototypes to validate the new structure, and designed a clean, visually compelling homepage that introduced the brand’s story, showcased featured artists, and guided users through the platform more intuitively.
The visual design leaned into artistic expression while maintaining usability and consistency across the platform.
Outcomes
The new user flow significantly reduced friction and improved task completion rates.
The homepage enhanced first impressions and boosted engagement for new users.
The client reported higher conversion rates and a noticeable drop in bounce rate.
This project highlighted how thoughtful UX and UI design can drive real business results and improve the overall user experience.
